Bangkok Post reported that from 1 October 2023 to 22 July 2024, Maya Bay welcomed 1,683,430 visitors and generated 549.86 million baht in entry fees for the national park.[ref:2] The same report said that July 2023 brought 110,436 visitors and about 23 million baht in fees, while July 2024 saw 96,236 tourists and 34.74 million baht thanks to stricter fee collection.[ref:2]
Those numbers help explain why a two-month rest matters.
